Going out to the beach for a vacation can be a lot of fun. You have to make sure that you are staying in the right place. You may want to stay right on the beach so that you can see the ocean as well as go out and swim in it. That means you need to know what to look for when you are looking for the perfect place for you to rent for your vacation.
Cleaning Requirements
One of the things that you should check is what kind of cleaning requirements you have to meet when you leave the rental. In general, you should leave the rental house in the same state that you found it, but the owners may have some special requirements. For example, they may want you to strip the linens off the bed and put them in a bag with the towels, and leave them in a specific spot so that they can easily get washed. If you don't follow the cleaning requirements, you may be charged extra after the landlord checks out the rental. You may want to take pictures or videos of the space when you get there and again when you leave so that you have a visual record if there is a conflict.
Actual Space
You also should check to see what the actual space in the house is. The description may say that it sleeps six, which is a good piece of information to have, but it doesn't tell you anything about the rental outside of how many beds there are. If something happens and you can get outside to the beach, you want there to be enough space for you and the rest of your party to do something while you are there. Having the rain spoil a beach day is bad enough, but not having the space for everyone to relax would be even worse. So, check to see how big the rental is, and if there is enough space for everyone to be comfortable if you have to spend the day inside. You may also want to check to see if the rental has things like games, cards, or entertainment systems to keep you from getting bored.
